Final Intake for Housing Accelerator Fund Grants in Watson Lake
The Town of Watson Lake is opening one final intake for three Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF) grant programs this fall, providing property owners with another opportunity to access funding for projects that can help create and improve housing in the community.
Applications are now being accepted for the Housing Development Grant, Residential Conversion Grant and New Suite Renovation Grant, with a deadline of Friday, November 20, 2026.
Funding for these programs is made possible through the Government of Canada’s Housing Accelerator Fund.
Three Grants Available
Whether you are considering adding a new living unit, improving an existing suite or converting an underused property into housing, one of the available grants may be able to help.
Housing Development Grant
The Housing Development Grant supports projects that create new housing in Watson Lake, including projects such as garden suites and additional residential units.
Residential Conversion Grant
The Residential Conversion Grant can help property owners convert previously abandoned dwellings or underused commercial or industrial spaces into residential housing.
New Suite Renovation Grant
The New Suite Renovation Grant is intended to help property owners improve existing suites so they can meet appropriate standards and become available as rental housing.
This fall represents the final intake for these HAF grant programs, so property owners who have been considering a housing project are encouraged to review the available funding and submit an application before the deadline.

Grant information, program policies and application forms are available at watsonlake.ca/housing.
Applicants are encouraged to review the requirements for each grant carefully and submit completed applications no later than November 20, 2026.
The Town will also be sharing grant information and application reminders through its Facebook page throughout October and November.
