Thanks to the Housing Accelerator Grant, the Town of Watson Lake has successfully completed the Town of Watson Lake Mortgage Accessibility Report, which is now available for public viewing.

This report, approved by the Mayor and Council on January 20, 2026, examines the barriers that Watson Lake residents face in accessing mortgage financing and outlines key solutions to improve homeownership opportunities in our community. By identifying challenges such as lending standards, housing appraisals, and local market conditions, the report aims to make it easier for residents to secure financing and access affordable housing.

The Housing Accelerator Grant funding has been instrumental in making this report possible, and it is just one of the many steps the Town is taking to address housing challenges and support long-term growth and stability in Watson Lake.
